Programs for employee training and are development are crucial to the success of companies everywhere. These programs provide employees with opportunities to further their careers while also improving the productivity of the employees and strengthen the corporate culture. Employee training and development is not only present focused but also future focused.

Bob Nelson, author of 1,001 Ways to Engage Employees, reports that learning and development are among the top factors in employee engagement (Wordpress, 2023). It has been clearly visible in organizations that employees who receive regular opportunities to develop themselves via training and development are more likely to stay in the organization.

Training and Development programme are important to improve employee performance. These training programs support to improve the knowledge and skills of employees to curtail the changes in the industry.

In fact, a 2019 report published in The International Journal of Business and Management Research indicates that 90% of employees surveyed agreed or strongly agreed that training and development programs improved their job performance (Wordpress, 2023).

Employees can prepare for additional responsibilities through training and development especially when they are cross trained to understand multiple roles. Training and Development will also facilitate employees to be up to date regarding the changes in the industry, in the fast-moving world this facilitates employees to be educated on upcoming issues such as cybersecurity threats while also be aware of the updated quality standards.

Generally new employees receive training as part of the onboarding process. The information they have learned on the training is really valuable because it will be easy for the freshers to understand the environment when they start to work and also the job role.

Training and Development programmes support employees to identify their personal strengths for while also to address the weaknesses identified in the performance reviews. Employee training and development programs can reinforce the soft skills that are fundamental in adjusting to changes at work and in society. The process boosts the confidence in employees as they feel confident after being equipped with necessary knowledge. This confidence cultivates a sense of enthusiasm and responsibility for the outcome of the work.

When employees understand they have a supportive employer they will be highly motivated and engaged about their performance and will also ensure to perform in a high level which also reduces employee turnover and have high employee loyalty towards the organization. Opportunity is a main factor in retaining employees. With this impact in mind, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) says companies should train managers to keep staff motivated, engaged, and feeling appreciated (Wordpress, 2023).

Training and Development of employees significantly contributes for the betterment of the employees in many ways. Employees should actively engage in the training development programmes organized by the organization.
