Importance of Training and Development to the Organization
Investment in
training and development has remarkable returns to the organization.
Training and development is important for new
employees. This serves as the platform to get new employees to understand the
job and the work environment. This will also support to identify the skill gaps
and address them. By having such a process, the organizations will benefit
because if employees directly start working without a training it will take
time for them to understand the requirements of the organization which will lead
to issues in the organization context.
All employees have their own weakness so training and
development facilitates to identify those and support the employees to minimize
them. Training and Development facilitates employees to be prepared to take
higher responsibilities which will benefit the organization because a group of
employees have already been trained for the positions so if there is need there
are people to step in so the flow of the organization does not disturb.
It makes sures employees are up to date with the changes
in the industry. If employees are not
updated with the latest trends this could hugely impact the organization negatively
because the current market is highly competitive so organizations should be up
to date to withstand the competition. The training of employees can have a
positive impact on the culture of the organization, as it increases job
satisfaction, engagement and retention.
The 2023 Value of Enablement Report found that 50% of
employees are considering leaving their company due to a lack of training. Additionally,
IBM found that only 21% of new hires intend to stay at an organization that
doesn’t offer training for their current role compared to 62% of new employees
who do have access to ongoing training (The importance of workplace training

A consistent learning experience and level of
knowledge for all employees is provided by an effective training programme.
Employees who have gone to the correct training require less supervision and
guidance. Training and development improve necessary skills in employees and prepares
them to complete tasks independently. This also gives the freedom for the management
to focus on urgent issues.
